Sign up for National Green Week (it’s free!) before February 1 to be automatically entered to be one of 10 winners who will receive reusable water bottles for a classroom of students! Don’t worry, if you’re not a teacher you can choose a classroom or group who can enjoy the prize (you’ll get one too, of course).
Green Week is the largest K-12 sustainability education movement in history, reaching over 5 million students across the country. This year, we want to grow those numbers so that over 8 million students are participating in sustainability education! Green Week kicks off February 4-8 but you can choose any week to participate between then and the end of Earth Month (April). Check out the Green Week Start Up Kit for step by step instructions!
As a participant, you’ll select one of GEF’s six sustainability themes, including the Sustainable Water Challenge, the Green Energy Challenge, or the I Ride Green program, to focus on this year. Each theme includes free lessons, activities, audits, and more that make it simple to be the leader of your own sustainability campaign.
As you think about your Green Week theme, remember to plan for a Green in Action award! Take photos of your projects or audits, film students recycling, or collect samples of sustainability focused artwork for example. Then, share your Green Week story with GEF to be entered to win $250 and a spotlight on GEF’s website.
